It's the easiest way to pay from outside of the UK
We are a group of like minded and motivated UK residents who during the past few years have regularly visited and continue to be enthralled at the humanitarian work being carried on at Unique Home for Girls in Jallandhar, Punjab, India. This little piece of Heaven nestling in the north of the world’s largest democracy provides hope to some of the most vulnerable members in our society i.e. new-born and young abandoned girls.
As you can imagine, there is a big demand on the home with many factors having to be taken into consideration to keeping it operating, the most important being availability of space and financial support. The project is in the process of building new premises which will provide better facilities/amenities for the staff and girls.
But all this will take lots of investment from many kind-hearted individuals and organisations which are only too willing to contribute to this most worthwhile project.
I am sure if you were to visit the home, that is if you have not already done so, you only have to look into the eyes of the girls to see how happy they are, or look at the staff and see how committed they are to their young 'charges'.
We all have a duty to protect and care for the vulnerable members in our communities and as stated previously there are none more vulnerable than young abandoned girls.
It was with this challenge uppermost in all our minds that we as individuals made the decision to seek advice on the feasibility of setting up a charitable organisation here in UK which could raise much needed funds to support the construction of the new premises. Within a few months of submitting our application to the Charity Commission we received our Charitable Status.
This was the ‘green light’ we had been waiting for as we immediately set about organising fundraising events which has further led to our website and facebook page both of which have accumulated worldwide support.
Let us not leave all the caring to the committed, and dedicated staff who are predominately volunteers.
